Tinubu Reshuffles Federal Boards, Appoints Ayo Fayose REA Chairman and 25 Others
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a fresh wave of appointments into the boards of key federal agencies and commissions, naming former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, as Chairman of the Board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
The appointments, which cover a total of 26 individuals, form part of the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen public institutions by bringing experienced professionals and public office holders into strategic leadership positions.
Fayose, who served as Governor of Ekiti State, is expected to provide policy direction and oversight for the REA Board. The agency is responsible for promoting electricity access in rural and underserved communities through grid expansion, renewable energy projects, and off-grid power solutions.
The President also approved appointments into several other federal agencies and commissions, including the National Salary and Wages Commission, with the aim of improving institutional performance, enhancing accountability, and supporting the effective implementation of government policies.
The Presidency said the appointments reflect the administration’s commitment to placing capable individuals in positions where they can contribute to national development and improve service delivery across critical sectors.
Political observers are expected to closely watch the new appointees as they assume responsibility for shaping policies and providing oversight in agencies that play important roles in Nigeria’s economic and social development.
The appointments take immediate effect, with the newly appointed board chairmen and members expected to work with their respective management teams to advance the Federal Government’s development priorities.
