Uzodimma’s Preferred Candidates Make Final INEC List for Imo APC National Assembly Elections
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially published the names and particulars of candidates nominated by the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the forthcoming National Assembly elections in Imo State, confirming all 13 candidates submitted by the party.
The development is being celebrated within APC circles as a major victory for Governor Hope Uzodimma, whose preferred candidates successfully made the final list released by the electoral umpire without any alteration.
Political observers say the publication of the candidates’ particulars underscores the governor’s growing influence within the party and reflects the level of unity achieved by the APC in Imo State ahead of the elections.
According to the list published by INEC, Uzodimma GoodHope Odidika will fly the party’s flag for Imo West Senatorial District (Orlu Zone). At the same time, Ndubueze Patrick Chiwuba will contest for Imo North Senatorial District (Okigwe Zone). In Imo East Senatorial District (Owerri Zone), the APC will be represented by business mogul and philanthropist Alexander Mbata.
For the House of Representatives, the party’s candidates are Emmanuel Uchenna Agasu (Isiala Mbano/Okigwe/Onuimo), Raphael Nnanna Igbokwe (Ahiazu Mbaise/Ezinihitte), Cosmos Nwabueze Maduba (Isu/Njaba/Nkwerre/Nwangele), Nnenna Sandra Anyama (Ideato North/Ideato South), Ngozi Immaculata Pat-Ekeji (Aboh Mbaise/Ngor-Okpala), Cannicemore Chukwugozie Nwachukwu (Oru East/Orsu/Orlu), Okechukwu Eugene Dibiagwu (Oguta/Ohaji-Egbema/Oru West), Tochukwu Chinedu Okere (Owerri Municipal/Owerri North/Owerri West), Akarachi Etinosa Amadi (Ikeduru/Mbaitoli), and Onwuegbuchulam Jonas Okeke (Ehime Mbano/Ihitte Uboma/Obowo).
The publication of the candidates’ particulars effectively confirms the APC’s readiness for the next phase of the electoral process and sets the stage for intense political campaigns across the state’s three senatorial districts and ten federal constituencies.
Party supporters have described the development as a testament to Governor Uzodimma’s leadership and commitment to ensuring a transparent and seamless nomination process. They argue that the emergence of the final list demonstrates the party’s determination to present candidates capable of retaining and expanding the APC’s political dominance in Imo State.
With the nomination process now concluded, attention is expected to shift to voter mobilization, issue-based campaigns, and strategic engagements as candidates prepare to seek the mandate of the people in what promises to be a highly competitive electoral contest.
