The Executive Chairman of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area, Barr. Iheukwumere Henry Alaribe, on Sunday joined the Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, at the outing service held in honour of Late Mrs. Christiana Opara, mother of Prof. John Kennedy Opara, former Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission.

The solemn service, which drew political leaders, government officials, clergy, community leaders, and well-wishers from across the state and beyond, was held as the final funeral rites for the deceased, whose life was celebrated for her devotion to God, family values, and service to humanity.

Barr. Alaribe welcomed Gov. Uzodinma and members of his entourage to Aboh Mbaise, expressing appreciation for the governor’s presence and solidarity with the Opara family during the period of mourning. He noted that the governor’s attendance reflected his commitment to identifying with the people of Imo State in moments of joy and grief.

During the church service, the officiating minister, in his homily, urged Christians to live lives of faith, humility, and righteousness, reminding the congregation that earthly existence is temporary and that every individual would one day give an account before God. He encouraged the faithful to emulate the virtues of the late Mrs. Opara, whose legacy of love, sacrifice, and dedication to her family and community remains a source of inspiration.

Governor Uzodinma paid tribute to the deceased and commiserated with Prof. John Kennedy Opara and the entire Opara family, praying for the peaceful repose of her soul. He described the late matriarch as a woman whose impact would continue to be felt through the lives she touched.

The outing service concluded with prayers for the family, while guests offered words of comfort and support to the bereaved, celebrating a life well lived and a legacy of faith that will endure for generations.
