2027 Election: Amaechi Urges Nigerians to Protect Their Votes, Insists Victory Should Come at the Polls

Former Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has called on Nigerians to defend their votes and make sure their mandate is upheld during elections.

Amaechi made this statement at the 66th Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), where he emphasized that electoral wins should be decided at the polling stations, not through court battles.

He urged the people to have the final say by exercising their right to vote, and encouraged Nigerians to stay alert and safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.

Amaechi also challenged lawyers to take a more active role in defending Nigerians’ rights, especially in ensuring that citizens can freely exercise their democratic rights.

Commenting on the current political climate, Amaechi claimed that President Bola Tinubu’s government has “declared war on Nigerians.”

He added that Nigerians must be ready to assert their rights and hold political leaders accountable.

The former governor’s comments come as political activities and discussions leading up to the 2027 general elections grow more intense across the country.
