Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has commended the Zion Prayer Movement Outreach (ZPMO) for its spiritual impact and contribution to commerce, trade and religious tourism in the state.
Uzodinma spoke while participating in the Grand Finale of the Zion Prayer Movement Outreach Annual World Conference and Global Crusade of Miraculous Takeover held at Zion City, Ngor Okpala, Imo State.
The governor recalled that when the ministry approached the Imo State Government with plans to establish its permanent site in the state, he was pleased to grant its request, noting that the decision was guided by the overriding public interest the project would serve.
He said he was impressed by the scale of development already achieved at Zion City, describing it as a clear reflection of the objectives that informed the state’s decision to support the ministry’s establishment.
Uzodinma also commended Evangelist Ebuka Obi, the spiritual leader of ZPMO, for his steadfastness and continued guidance of members of the ministry, popularly known as Zionites.
According to the governor, the ministry’s activities extend beyond spiritual development, as they are also contributing to economic activities within its host community and other parts of Imo State.
He noted that the growing activities around Zion City have created opportunities for commerce and trade while attracting religious pilgrims and visitors to the state.
Uzodinma assured the Zion Prayer Movement Outreach of the continued support of the Imo State Government, stressing that the administration would do everything within its capacity to support the ministry’s success.
He further described Imo as one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria and expressed confidence that the religious activities of ZPMO would continue to strengthen the state’s tourism potential.
The governor’s remarks highlight the growing importance of Zion City, Ngor Okpala, as a destination for religious gatherings and pilgrimage in Imo State.
