Troops Repel Terrorist Attack in Borno, Four Soldiers Injured
Troops of the Joint Task Force, North East, Operation HADIN KAI, have repelled a terrorist attack on Kukawa town in Borno State.
The attack reportedly occurred on Friday night when terrorists targeted troops of the 101 Special Forces Battalion deployed in the area.
The military said troops responded with direct and indirect fire, forcing the attackers to withdraw towards the Cross Kauwa axis.
Several terrorists were reportedly neutralised during the operation, while others sustained injuries as they fled.
The military also reported that 10 motorcycles used by the terrorists were destroyed, while ammunition and other items were recovered.
Four military personnel sustained injuries during the engagement. The military said their injuries were not life-threatening and that they were evacuated for medical treatment in stable condition.
Troops have continued operations in the area as efforts to prevent the terrorists from regrouping remain.
