Tinubu Begins Three-Week Annual Leave, Departs Abuja for London

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Sunday, August 30, 2026, depart Abuja for Europe to begin a three-week vacation as part of his annual leave.

According to a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the President’s first stop will be London, United Kingdom.

Onanuga said President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the working vacation and join the campaign activities ahead of the January 2027 election.

The President’s planned three-week leave comes as political activities and preparations for the 2027 elections continue to intensify across the country.

During his absence, routine government activities are expected to continue in line with existing constitutional and administrative arrangements.

The Presidency did not disclose further details of President Tinubu’s itinerary or the specific engagements scheduled during his stay in Europe.
